I’ve even heard of nasty viruses coming off from Facebook. A trojan horse virus installs a server that is run on your computer at all times. The hacker can now key log your keystrokes, take screen shots of your computer screen, download any of your files, spy through your webcam, and many other unethical things. Once you have this installed all it takes is typing your password once and your entire everything is gone. I personally have gone through this, which I reference my story in the author bio. But anyways, there are many different things you can do to take care of these.

One thing you can do is track down the process the trojan server is running and manually delete it. This can be hard to do and requires extensive knowledge with computers. I have been in the field for 9 years and sometimes still have trouble with these things. This might require you starting your computer in safe mode, trust me, safe mode can be your best friend for viruses. Another thing that you can do to combat these nasty viruses is be conscious of what you are downloading, and make sure you have an antivirus installed and going at all times. Some trojans can shut down anti-viruses, so you must pick one that you are comfortable with. This is not something you should just overlook. If you decide to go with free antivirus keep in mind that this is like the Chevy Cavalier of cars. It does what it has to do but it won’t protect you for the big hit. Having a paid antivirus is like driving around in a tank. The reason I believe this is because in one of my case studies, I found out that most free antivirus programs take 2 weeks to update their virus definitions. This means they don’t know how to find the newest viruses for a while until they are out. The great thing about paid antivirus is within 24 hours of a big virus or trojan hitting the internet, they will have an update for it.
